DYNAME™ 4.0
FEEL THE POWER

Introducing the next generation e-bike drive system

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND POWERPLAY™

Introducing the next generation, Dyname 4.0 drive system.

The patented Dyname™ propulsion system for e-bikes is by far the most advanced and powerful system in it's class. Designed in Canada, we’ve kept the same massive power as our previous generation, but fit it into a smaller and lighter package. The Dyname 4.0 drive system delivers power in a responsive and natural way providing the best e-bike ride feel on the market.

DYNAME™ 4.0 - ONLY AVAILABLE ON ROCKY MOUNTAIN POWERPLAY™

From the outset, our goal was to create an electric mountain bike that felt as natural as possible Rocky Mountain

Building on the success of our previous Powerplay models, we’ve completely re-designed the Altitude Powerplay and Instinct Powerplay to continue to push the envelope of high performance e-bikes. With our next generation Dyname 4.0 drive system, we've thoughtfully integrated new features with a rider-focused design. Our Powerplay bikes are firmly positioned at the forefront of e-bike innovation.

DYNAME™ TECHNOLOGY

Dyname systems

The first Dyname™ system was created for road and hybrid e-bikes. The second one was specifically designed for bike sharing systems, integrating a powerful motor and an auxiliary 12 volt supply to meet the equipment power requirements. The third generation was designed exclusively for and collaboratively with Rocky Mountain Powerplay™.

Dyname™ 1

BELT-DRIVEN MID-DRIVE MOTOR SYSTEM

Smallest and most powerful system on the planet.

This system was designed to be used on urban and comfort bikes. The stator of the motor is pressed directly in the bike's frame for better heat transfer and optimal efficiency. this system uses pulleys and a belt (Kevlar) to transfer power to the rear wheel on the opposite side of the cassette. A clutch bearing is integrated in the rear wheel drive system to eliminate any drag when the motor is not running in order to improve pedalling experience.

2009

THE CONCEPT

In 2009, the concept for a revolutionary electric drive system was presented to the design team at the company’s headquarters in Beauce, Québec. Propulsion Powercycle was created with the purpose of developing an innovative electric drive system which would be named Dyname.

2012-2014

THREE YEARS LATER

Three years later, in 2012, the design team debuted an urban electric bike, Evox, featuring the proprietary Dyname 1.0 drive. Shortly thereafter, we introduced North America to its first electric bike sharing program using the Dyname 2.0 drive. In 2014 an improved version was released, Dyname 2.2, made exclusively for Bewegen bike share system.
